Financial 'brokerage' - if that's the right word

I saw an initiative from someone who I don't know but who I think really deserves support. It was David Mathu, who was talking about setting up stargazing in Africa to encourage schoolkids there. I was struck by how difficult it is to send donations (I'm only talking individual sized donations like £20) because there's no way to be sure that a person is real and sharing personal information these days is very risky with all the deep fake AI stuff.

It struck me that one of the things that Amazon offers (or Etsy) is a way to safely connect small businesses and potential customers by dealing with the finance layer. I was wondering if Simon would consider becoming an equivalent for 'business philanthropy' as part of HelpBnk? With the organisation’s global reach, would it be possible to put in place national or regional verification mechanisms and centrally handle this kind of finance?

I know if would come with risk but it could be an important resource for fledgling entrepreneurs who don’t already have corporate backing. It might also attract corporate sponsors too.
